What are the white webs in my betta fish bowl??
I have a betta in a two gallon glass fish bowl. On the bottom are glass rocks and there is a hidey hole made of some kind of hard plastic. I purchased it all at PetSmart. I noticed a long white weblike string attached to the hideyhole floating up to the top of the water. Well, yesterday, I changed all of the water and this morning the whole bowl was filled with white webs. What in the world is this????
I am almost inclined to agree with the answer it is his bubble nest. However the slime description is worrisome.
Whatever that thing is, rinse it really good but do not use soap. Put it back in. Take it back out in 1 week and see what it looks like.
